More than 7,000 brides-to-be are expected to descend on Manchester Central, on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16, 2014, for the first wedding show of its kind. The National Wedding Show is expected to provide regional suppliers with a £10 million economic boost. The total estimated spend is almost £10 million, with each visitor set to spend an average of £1,427 at the show. According to organizers of the event, 70 percent of exhibitors are based in the northwest or have concessions in the region including Thornton Manor, The Trafford Centre, Jo Bradbury Photo, Hazelnut Bakery, Lace Bridal Hale, Nigel Rayment and Debenhams.
“Thousands of brides will be gathering in Manchester over the March weekend, bringing mums, sisters, friends and bridesmaids with them to explore everything both the show and the city have to offer,” said Emma Fouracre of The National Wedding Show. “They’re coming to plan a wedding in one day, hunting for local suppliers and getting advice and inspiration from exhibitors. Brides-to-be across the North West will certainly be making the most of the opportunity to discuss all things ‘weddings’ at the show. I’m sure that they’ll be rewarding themselves after a day’s shopping with an evening spent in this beautiful city.”
Birmingham and London also host The National Wedding Show twice a year. This is the first time that the show, organized by Ocean Media, will be held in Manchester. CEO of Ocean Media Group, David Moran said, “Manchester is my home city and I truly believe that it’s one of the most exciting places in the country right now. There is so much being invested in the city. I’m sure that the thousands of brides-to-be who come to Manchester Central for the show will not be disappointed.”
