AnastasiaDate, the internationally renowned and trusted online dating site, jointly conducted a survey recently with Harris Interactive, a leading market research firm, to find out the apprehensions of men about dating. A few interesting trends emerged from the survey results.
The survey focused on U.S. males aged 35 to 55 with a household income of $100,000 or more. Respondents had an interest in relationships with women and an education level of at least an associate’s degree. These men were surveyed to understand their fears about getting back on to the dating scene. The survey uncovered a number of factors that form a man’s dating fears including level of education and desire to date internationally. Specific findings from Harris include:

Men with a bachelor’sor associate’s degree are most likely to say they are intimidated to speak to a lady for the first time when she is surrounded by her friends.

Men with at least some graduate school education are most likely to admit to not knowing how to begin a conversation with ladies they meet for the first time.

Men who would consider dating ladies outside the U.S. are more likely to find themselves quickly bored when speaking to women in person for the first time than those men who date only locally.

The majority (54%) of men in this group struggle when meeting women face to face for the first time.
“The survey indicates that once out of the dating scene a large number of men find it extremely difficult to get back to dating again with confidence,” says the Chief Communications Officer for AnastasiaDate, Lawrence Cervantes. “There now appears to be a growing preference for online dating and this trend is specifically seen in men looking for love again after their first relationship ended in divorce or separation.”
