PERFORMING ARTS SAN ANTONIO CELEBRATES GROWTH WITH FUNDRAISING GALA, SUMMER CAMPS

Performing Arts San Antonio
Performing Arts San Antonio is holding a GALA Event to celebrate its new location and to raise funds for new seating, a second camera, an enhanced sound system and specialized lighting equipment. The evening will feature performances from past and present students as well as silent and live auctions, food, and wine. The news space will initially house PASA's summer camps, but will be ready for a full season of performing arts classes in the Fall.

Performing Arts San Antonio (PASA) will hold their “Imagine the PASA-bilities” Gala and Auction on Saturday, June 8th from 7 to 11pm at their newly opened facilities at 15705 San Pedro, San Antonio.  This event will feature live entertainment, including performances by past and present PASA students, a live auction and a silent auction.  Refreshments will be served, including hors d’oeuvres, desserts and wine.

Live auction items include a semester of classes at PASA; a Professional Headshots Session with Sragnar Fotografi; demo reel and coaching by PASA; an extra role in SouthCoast Production’s next film;  a speaking role in SouthCoast Production’s next film; 1-yr Promotions package from SouthCoast Talent Management; wine flown in from California’s NAPA Valley; jewelry from Ben Adams Precious Jewels and more!

“We’re very excited to share wonderful performances by some of the outstanding talent in San Antonio!” says PASA co-founder Vaughn Taylor, “Performances will include singing, dancing and acting along with amazing music from local artists.”

The Gala is also a celebration of the opening of a new, larger facility adjacent to the current space.  Funds raised will be used to purchase new seating, a second camera, an enhanced sound system and specialized lighting equipment.  The new location will provide a 100+ seat theatre with a much larger stage, 20 foot ceilings to fly backdrops, an on-site photographic studio and three new classrooms.  The new stage can be conformed as proscenium, thrust or theatre in the round and will be available for rent to production companies and for corporate and community meetings.  PASA has also announced the establishment of the PASA Voice Studio and will introduce music classes for the first time.  Career guidance and counseling will be offered for parents with children pursuing the performing arts and a homeschool program will include the performing arts, music and voice.

“Our goal has always been to create a North Side Theatre offering professional quality productions and training at the same level you would find in New York and Hollywood,” says PASA co-founder Paul Tinder. “This new space will finally allow us to offer the city what has always been our dream since moving here from Hollywood.”

The first classes to be held in the new facilities will actually be PASA's renowned Summer Pro Camps.  This year they are offering five different camps for children of all ages.  The first camp will be a musical theatre camp, in which the play "Hot Rod" will be staged and performed.  Next will be a Kids Acting Camp, followed by a new short film production camp.  This innovative sumer camp experience will guide the students in the filming of an original short called "The Dance," in which zombies are found at a school dance.  A weeklong Acting On Film Intensive is next, and then a musical theatre production of "Sleepy Hollow, which will carry into the fall and be ready in time for a Halloween performance.

About PASA:

Performing Arts San Antonio opened its doors in January 2010. Over the three years we have taught over 450 students comprising enrollment in weekly classes, summer camps, weekend intensives and private voice and acting classes. The high level of training offered at PASA has resulted in referrals by moms and dads who see the improvement in their children after studying at PASA. Our rapid growth presents the opportunity to create a truly unique North Side Theatre and Training Center. We will be announcing a full season of theatrical productions and the theatre complex will be available for rental by other production companies as well as business meeting and community events.

PASA also does extensive coaching for students preparing for both stage and film auditions as well as preparing for college and scholarship auditions. Students range from children 6 years old to adult. Because of our extensive experience in New York and Hollywood we continually offer counseling to parents with children pursuing dreams of a career in the performing arts.  Classes are offered in Acting for Film and Stage, Broadway Prep, Voice and Vocal performance, Voiceovers, Music and producing Video and Audio Demo Reels.
