Infographic from iJailbreakPro.com Lists All the Pros and Cons to iOS Jailbreaking

Make A Break For It!
Jailbreaking iPhones Removes Restrictions and Limitations

If you have just purchased an expensive iPhone you may be disappointed, and more than a little bit angry, to discover you cannot run or download any App that you wish. Restrictions and limitations are put on your brand new phone by the manufacturer and your carrier that only allow you to install and run applications that they endorse, such as applications obtained through Apple's App Store.

Fortunately, there are ways around this (iOS jailbreaking) but they do come with their own set of risks. There are pros and cons to jailbreaking your iPhone and they are listed in a new Jailbreaking Infographic recently published by IJailbreak Pro. Jailbreaking is easy to accomplish on your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and even the 2nd generation Apple TV.

The process of jailbreaking your iPhone is accomplished by installing a software application on your home computer or laptop and then transferring it to your iPhone. Essentially, this "breaks open" the iPhone’s file system. You will then be able to modify the system to install and run third-party applications of your choosing. However, you should weigh the pros and cons of the process before you make your decision.

First off, the process is not illegal, although it does offer some satisfaction in a devious sort of way. You will also be free from corporate control over your personal property. You can always restore your iPhone or other Apple device to its original factory settings if your conscience gets the better of you or it starts acting up.

There are numerous third party apps listed in the Pros column of the infographic with functions that allow you to customize your phone and provide easier access to your settings. There is also one that enables you to download Google Chrome and increase performance by up to 300%.

The biggest Con is that you may void your warranty by jailbreaking your iPhone but you may also be more susceptible to malware and other apps with malicious intent, so be careful and read reviews before you download anything. See the infographic for the full list of pros and cons to jailbreaking your iPhone.
