KLMEX
Enterprises and institutions come, on a daily basis, face to face with risks inherent in an increasingly volatile world.

Executives from the Kuala Lumpur Mercantile Exchange (KLMEX) have joined at a Research & Development (R&D) expansion ribbon-cutting event for a new 15,000 square meters R&D facility at KLMEX  (www.klmex.org) Headquarters.

This new facility is part of a global growth plan for KLMEX' research efforts for the development and commercialization of new products for traders around the world.

"At KLMEX, we are dedicated to providing solutions for the growing world that will help traders improve their results," said Michael Peterson, Deputy MD of KLMEX Research® Affiliates. "This new center of expertise will greatly enhance our ability to discover new products and technologies, achieve our growth milestones and create new jobs."

In 2010, KLMEX (www.klmex.org)  announced a multi-year expansion that included the construction of this new research facility and the addition of more than 670 scientific and commercial jobs by 2015. The company has already hired more than 300 new employees in Kuala Lumpur since 2010.

As the newest addition to the KLMEX's campus, the new Research Center will support the R&D activities of more than 200 research scientists from the Advanced Marketing and Technology Development and Research and Development functions. The new facility includes both office and lab configurations that deliver efficient, high-performing quality research space, while enhancing the company's safety culture.

"KLMEX' investment in Kuala Lumpur strengthens our role as a leader in the life sciences industry," said Kuala Lumpur Mayor. "This project will not only create construction jobs in the short term, but many additional permanent high-tech jobs in our community."

The facility was constructed with a goal of achieving certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Features include:

•             Up to 30 percent of the new facility was made with recycled materials.

•             Forty percent of the materials were manufactured within 500 miles of the site, reducing costs for production, shipping and fuel.

•             The multiple window views allow the building to utilize natural daylight.

•             A reflective white roof and an extensive cooling system in the basement help control temperatures.

Enterprises and institutions come, on a daily basis, face to face with risks inherent in an increasingly volatile world. To manage these risks and enable global growth, they need access, efficiency, transparency and security. Kuala Lumpur Mercantile Exchange (KLMEX) answers these needs through products, services and technology that facilitate risk management and remove barriers to help the world’s business leaders confidently move forward.
