Sandy, UT (May 19, 2014) -- Dave Bresnahan and his son Joseph Bresnahan have enjoyed working together in movies and a major international commercial in the past few months, and say their acting careers are a fun way to do something together.

The two began acting together in the third of a series of World War II films in back in September 2013. They played several featured background roles both as German soldiers and Americans in Saints and Soldiers: The Void which is scheduled to be released in theaters in August 2014.
They were featured together in a scene as members of a Panzer Tank crew, later as American P.O.W.s who were liberated from a prison camp, also as German prison guards of that camp, and as German riflemen. Last of all they were both made up as dead bodies, which Joseph said he really liked because he looked like a Zombie.
"The magic of filmmaking is pretty incredible. Even though we played these different roles, you wouldn't be able to tell if we didn't tell you that it is us. We look different in every scene, so you can't tell it is us," explained Dave Bresnahan.
Saints and Soldiers: The Void is the third in a series of films and is based on a true World War II story that took place in the spring of 1945. On a fateful mission through the Harz Mountains of Germany, a M18 Hellcat crew is ambushed by three German Panzers. They deal not only with the challenges of battle, but also the challenges of racial segregation.
The Bresnahans appear in the opening segment of a new trailer for the film http://ad.trwv.net/t.pl/19741/357550.
The two were also in H8RZ (Haters), about high school kids who cheat on tests, which will be released late in 2014 or 2015. Dave Bresnahan played a high school teacher, and Joseph Bresnahan played a student.
Each has had roles in a number of other films on their own. They both played a part in a multi-million dollar commercial production for a Samsung commercial which was shown during the recent Winter Olympics in Russia. Most recently they were both in the film Mythica: The Necromancer, in which they played medieval soldiers. Dave Bresnahan had a rather dramatic scene in which he was killed when an Orc shot with an arrow into his neck, and then the bad guy of the film finished him off.
"It has been fun acting in films together, even though our roles were just small ones. It was something neat for a father and son to do together. Something we'll always remember," said Dave Bresnahan.
Dave has been acting since his college days. Until recently his work has been mostly in radio and TV commercials doing voiceover acting. He has had numerous requests to help out by working on films that are being made in Utah.
"I try to do all I can to support independent filmmaking in Utah. We have some tremendous talent in our state both in front of and behind the camera. I do what I can to help," he said.
