The World Turns Out to Cast The Star in the new suspense thriller 10 Days In A Madhouse

Like American Idol and The X Factor, in an exciting twist on movie casting, the world public is being asked to choose from the top 50 finalist screen tests to pick the starring role of famed reporter Nellie Bly in the new motion picture suspense thriller 10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE!

Seattle, WA, USA (October 4, 2013) -- Like American Idol and The X Factor, in an exciting twist on movie casting, the world public is being asked to choose from the top 50 finalist screen tests to pick the starring role of famed reporter Nellie Bly in the new motion picture suspense thriller 10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE!

And the world is showing up. With over 145,000 votes in the first 48 hours of the competition that will run until October 8th. On October 9th, the winning actress will be announced.

"Passions are running high and the competition is tough," says producer Donovan Le about the massive interest in voting that has shut down the site a couple of times for sheer volume.

As well as the star, 10 finalists will be guaranteed a speaking role in the movie. The movie, which is partially being financed by an Indieogogo Campaign, (http://igg.me/at/10DaysInAMadhouse), will be a Screen Actors Guild production under New Media rules. Non union have also been allowed to apply. At least 100 other roles are also being cast for the production that will begin shooting soon.

The feature length motion picture suspense thriller 10 DAYS IN A MADHOUSE chronicles the real life experiences of 23 year old journalist Nellie Bly, who, working for Joseph Pulitzer, feigned mental illness to go undercover in the notorious Blackwell's Island Woman's Insane Asylum to expose atrocities, abuse rape and murder.

Director Timothy Hines explains the thinking behind the star search, "The Nellie Bly Star Search is a fun and creative way to introduce new talent to millions of moviegoers, pave the way for public awareness of the movie and bring the public in on the casting. Even the actresses who do not win many votes are being brought much public exposure. And nothing can advance an actress's career more than to be seen. Also, the public who voted are likely to return to see how the finished project turned out. This is great for all involved."

"Recognizable actresses from iconic films, TV shows, theater and national commercials are amongst the very good selection of world class talent who have submitted their video tests," adds producer Susan Goforth.

MTV's Kaitlin O'Toole, Julia Chantrey who was in MEAN GIRLS with Lindsay Lohan and Emily Greco who can be seen everywhere in the Luminosity commercials are some of the contenders.

The award winning filmmakers, director Timothy Hines and producers Susan Goforth and Donovan Le, whose last movie was the critically acclaimed WAR OF THE WORLDS THE TRUE STORY, now in DVD and on demand, chose the 50 finalists from 164 submissions for the world to pick the star.
