Harley Davidson recently revealed its Street 750 cruiser just in time for its appearance at the Goa, India Bike Week in early January and Auto Expo 2014. A company official said the Street 750 would hit Indian roads by mid-2014. The cruiser will be manufactured locally in Bawal, Haryana, said Anoop Prakash, Harley-Davidson India's managing director.
"The Harley-Davidson Street 750 will be manufactured from our plant in Bawal, Haryana. We have already made additional investments (additional 35%) for this venture. This will be operational by mid of 2014. The Street 750 will be first launched in January 2014 in Goa at India Bike Week and later at Delhi Auto Expo," said Prakash. The Street 750 will also be exported to other countries such as Portugal, Italy and Spain, he added.
With sneak previews early in November at the 2013 EICMA Motor Show in Milan, the Street 500 and Street 750 will be sporting an affordable price tag when they enter the motorcycle market. They will be targeted toward the urban youth and come with a liquid-cooled, V-twin Revolution X engine, six-speed transmission, 2-into-1 exhaust, 2-passenger seat and disc brakes. Harley-Davidson has just opened its 11th dealership in India at Amanora Town Centre Mall in Pune.
