Jacksonville, Fla. October – The McCann Law Group added attorney Bruce Weiner as a partner to its national bankruptcy team in October to provide more aid for financially distressed individuals in New York. Weiner brings 30 years of experience representing debtors having handled thousands of bankruptcy cases over the course of his career to the McCann Law Group’s national bankruptcy team.
Weiner also currently works as a partner with Rosenberg, Musso & Weiner, LLP. His primary practice areas include chapter 7 bankruptcy, chapter 13 bankruptcy, foreclosure defense and bankruptcy trustee actions.
He was admitted to the New York bar in 1978. He was also admitted in the U.S. District Court Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals 2nd Circuit.
Weiner has successfully argued three cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. These cases include Musso vs. Ostashko, a case against the Caesar Palace casino and re Fischer.
He attended law school at Washington University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 1977. Prior to then, he attended Washington University where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1973.

Weiner has been recognized among the legal community with a number of accolades and awards. In May 2005, he received the Brooklyn Bar Association Frieda S. Nisnewitz Award for Community Service. In 2004, he received the New York State Bar Association President’s Pro Bono Service Award and in 2002-2007 he received the Gold Certificate for Pro Bono Service from the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project.
